Det er nå gått ca 10 mnd siden hjemkomsten og minnene er veldig gode. I løpet av de 3 ukene, tilbragte jeg 16 dager i New Zealand (NZ), 3 dager i Australia og 1 dag i Singapore.
Jeg opplevde mye forskjellig. Alt fra storbyen (Auckland og Brisbane) til fjellene og fjordene i NZ, var i kontakt med dyr fra katter til kenguru, gikke på strender i nordvest, sør-øst og sørvest i NZ, i tillegg til det østligste punktet i Australia.
Jeg møtte/snakket med folk fra Singapore, Australia, amerikanere, dansker, nordmann, briter, skotter og kiwier/maori/pakeha (inkludert statsministeren i NZ!).
De beste minnene er likevel å treffe min "familie" i NZ - noe som var det viktigste ved turen. De var utrolig gjestfrie og vennlige og jeg følte meg virkelig som en del av familien "down under".
Jeg følte meg "hjemme" i NZ. Sør-øya ER virkelig veldig lik Norge. "Skotske" Dunedin minte meg om Bergen og Trondheim, eventyrlige Queenstown ligner på Voss og Milford Sound er NZ svar på de norske fjordene. Vakkert! New Zealand er "the real Middle-Earth" for meg. Jeg anbefaler alle et besøk i New Zealand (og Australia...)

Fantastic journey!
It has been about 10 months since I came back from the journey. The memories are very good. During the 3 weeks, I spent 16 days in New Zealand (NZ), 3 days in Australia and 1 day in Singapore.
I experienced a lot. From the big city (Auckland and Brisbane) to the mountains and fiords of NZ. Contact with animals; from cats to kangaroos, walked on beaches in north-east, south-west and south-east of NZ, in addition to the most easterly point of Australia.
I met/talked with people from Singapore, Aussies, Americans, Danes, Norwegian, British people, Scots and Kiwis/Maori/Pakeha (including the Prime Minister of NZ!).
The best memories are from meeting my "family" down under, which was the most important to me about the trip. They were incredibly hospitable and friendly to me, and they made me feel as I was part of their family.
I felt "at home" in NZ. The South-Island really IS similar to Norway. "Scottish" Dunedin reminded me of Bergen and Trondheim, adventurous Queenstown looks like Voss and Milford Sound is very similar to the Norwegian fiords. Beautiful! New Zealand is the real "Middle-Earth" to me. I recommend everyone a visit to NZ (and Australia...)

Hjemme/Home!
Nå sitter jeg hjemme og skriver på min egen pc igjen. Kom hjem i går ettermiddag (lørdag) etter mangeeee timer på fly fra Brisbane, Australia. Flyene ble mindre og mindre fra Sydney (via Singapore) og videre til Frankfurt og Oslo. Været ble plutselig kaldere også i Europa...Jeg føler meg ganske bra - fikk en god natts søvn.
Tiden var knapp i Australia der jeg var sammen med min vennine Annie. Jeg opplevde faktisk noe veldig uvanlig der - det regnet! Det var de egentlig glade for der nede - regn trengs der nede. Kvelden jeg ankom, gikk vi litt i sentrum og så en film på kino (til vi nesten sovnet begge to). Torsdag leide vi bil og kjørte (jeg kjørte faktisk et lite stykke også) sørover fra Brisbane og krysset grensen til New South Wales, til Byron Bay (Australia's østligste punkt). Flott natur og flott strand. Vi spiste lunsj (Fish and chips) på stranda der. Etterpå kjørte til til Wildlife Currumbin sanctuary, gold coast. Det var fantastisk, med masse dyr. Jeg fikk holde en koala, mate kenguru og tok bilder av mange dyr som eks. krokodille, dingo, fugler. Derfra dro vi direkte til Australias svar på Las Vegas, gold coast. Vi var så heldige og fikk de 2 siste billettene til Draculas show med middag på kvelden. Det var servitørene og mange andre sterkt sminket som Dracula. Det var egentlig en teatersal/Cabaret. Det var en ganske stor overgang fra Mitai Maori village show 2 dager tidligere i Rotorua, New Zealand!
Nå er jeg altså hjemme igjen - til snø! Jeg skal se på alle bildene jeg har tatt i løpet av turen og legge ut et utvalg her på på bloggen.
Now I am at home, writing on my own computer. Came home yesterday (saturday) after manyyy hours on planes. The planes became smaller and smaller from Singapore, Frankfurt and Oslo and the weather suddenly got colder in Europe... I am feeling good (better than expected) and got a good night sleep.
Time was short in Brisbane, Australia. I was together with my friend Annie. I actually experienced something special there - it rained! They need it though - it is very dry down there. The evening I arrived, we walked in the city and watched a film on cinema (untill we both nearly fell asleep). On thursday we rented a car and drove south to New South Wales, Byran Bay (Australia's most easterly point). Wonderful nature and wonderful beach with surfers etc. We had lunch (fish and chips)on the beach.Then we drove to Wildlife currumbin sanctuary, gold coast. Fantastic - with a lot of animals. I got to hold a koala, feed kenguru and took many pictures of crocodile, dingo, birds etc. Afterwords, we were so lucky to get the 2 last tickets for a Dracula show with dinner, on the gold coast. The waitresses and most of the others there were wearing a lot of make-up. It was really a cabaret/theater. Quite a big change from the Mitai Maori village show I attended in Rotorua, New Zealand 2 days earlier! So now I am home again - to snow! I am going to look at all the pictures I took on the trip and post a selection on this blog.

Brisbane
Dette er en kort post fordi jeg er paa veg hjem fra Brisabane, Australia. Har vart her i 3 dager. Leide bil og kjorte til Golden coast der vi bl.a. besokte Kenguru og dro paa show. Naa skal jeg reise tilbake til Norge. Ca 20 timer fra Sydney til Frankfurt. Jeg skal legge ut mer info naar jeg kommer hjem. Ikke tid naa.

Rotorua
Kom til Rotorua her paa nord-oya i gaar. Reiste fra Christchurch etter at bussturen var ferdig paa sondag kveld. Vest-kysten (wetcoast) var siste stopp paa reisen. Vi besokte bl.a.Jade fabrikken (greenstone). Ogsaa "pancakes" national park - meget spesiell!
Her i Rotorua bor jeg privat. I gaar kveld tok vi gondola opp til Skyline-restaurant (samme som i Queenstown) og spiste en fantastisk middag og fantastisk utsikt over byen med fyrverkeri (Guy Fawkes day). I dag har jeg vart og sett en ekte kiwi (fuglen) og andre fugler og fisker m.m. som er typisk for omraadet her. Har ogsaa vart ved de mange innsjoene her i omraadet. Ikveld skal vi paa en maori-konsert, noe jeg gleder meg til.
I morgen reiser jeg med shuttle til Auckland city airport hvor jeg skal fly til Brisbane, Australia. Der skal jeg vare til fredag da jeg flyr tilbake til Norge.
I came to Rotorua here on the north-island yesterday. Came from Christchurch after the bus-trip was over on sunday evening. The westcoast (wet-coast as they call it here) was the last stop on the journey. Among others we visited the Jade-factory and the "pancakes", a part of a national park - amazing!
I am staying with friends here in Rotorua. Yesterday evening we took the gondola up to the Skyline-restaurant and had a wonderful dinner with a fantastic view of the city and the fireworks (Guy Fawkes day). Today I have been to see a real Kiwi bird and other birds and fish etc. We have also been to see the lakes here which there are several of here. Tonight we are going on a maori-concert, which I look forward to.
Tomorrow I travel to Auckland city airport by shuttle and fly to Brisbane, Australia where I will stay 2 nights before I fly home to Norway.

Queenstown
Er kommet til Queenstown - NZ svar paa Voss synes jeg. Fortsatt fantastisk vaer her. I gaar var i med paa fjordcruise til Milford sound. Ligner veldig paa Geirangerfjorden, men gronn sjo. Fantastisk! Fikk en liten dusj da ferja kjorte helt inntil en av fossene der - artig. Deretter lang busstur til Queenstown der vi blir til i morgen tidlig. Idag har jeg hatt en eventyrlig da. Ble med paa en 4x4 drive til Lord of the Rings scenery. Fantastisk fjell! Provde ogsaa aa grave etter gull. Fikk sett flere av lord of the rings locations. I kveld skal vi paa middag og underholdning opp paa en fjell her med en "gondola". Blir nok spesiellt.

Today I have had an adventures day. Joined a 4x4 drive into the mountains here. Lord of the rings scenery with some of the locations. Fantastic mountain. Tried to dig for gold too in the river. Got to see several of the lord of the rings locations. This evening we are having dinner and entertainment on the mountain here - are taking the gondola. Will be special, I think.
